My passion
is to ask why
As a Holistic Clinical Nutritionist, I am passionate about understanding eating habits. Specifically, where they started, how they’re going, how we can change them.
Everyone has their own relationship with food that began before they were born and continues to evolve. Some decisions we make consciously but many are made unconsciously.
Did you know that you have a relationship with food and that it affects your eating habits?
For some children, meal times were not an enjoyable experience.
Some of us love eating vegetables while others view it as a chore.
In some households, eating vegetables is also used as a form of punishment or bribery.
My passion is helping you to explore your relationship with food and support you to change the habits that are not serving you.
My dream is for you to become more conscious of your habits, eating or otherwise, and see the benefits this can bring to your overall wellbeing.
do you know?
Why you eat the foods you do?
Why you eat the way that you do?
Why you have an emotional attachment to some foods?
Why some emotions make you reach for specific foods?
How I can help
try before you buy
Let’s have a chat and find out if we’re the right fit. You have to be comfortable with your health practitioner and I want to make sure that I can help you.
let’s get into it
An initial consultation is $170 and takes about 60 minutes. I will ask LOTS of questions - about your current state of health, your medical history and any family history that you know of. I'll also need to know about medications and any diagnosed conditions so that I can provide appropriate support.
I can provide dietary and lifestyle recommendations, as well as educational resources and nutritional supplements but my biggest focus is listening to you and really understanding where you are and how you got here. Every person has the ability to heal themselves and thrive, I want to help you to do that.
after that
I normally work with people for more than one session, because lasting change takes time and support. This is a commitment to your health and I want you to take it as seriously as I do.
How we move forward is different for every person, the length and frequency of our catch ups will depend on your situation, and the cost will vary based on that. We’ll agree on this after your first consultation and you will get more value when you commit to a long term plan.
private health
Nutritional Medicine consultations can be claimed through some private health funds, including Medibank, NIB, ARHG & AHM.
small business coaching
Prior to becoming a Clinical Nutritionist, I have more than a decade of experience in coaching teams and executives in project management, business analysis, applying legal regulations, accounts management, recruitment, process development, website management, personal coaching, relationship management and IT. This makes me uniquely qualified to help you in the natural health arena. Since graduating I have applied these skills to coach a number of natural medicine practitioners to work through the confusing, and often overwhelming, process of starting or supporting a small business.
I have a referral network for website development, graphic design, accounting, marketing and other health practitioners. Part of my offering includes connecting you with these services and managing those relationships to reduce that feeling of overwhelm.
I believe that small businesses are the way of the future. Communities coming together to share their specialised knowledge and skills, supports each other to thrive. I am a part of this movement and want to help you join in too!
The coaching I offer is tailored to your individual needs. Whether you need help from scratch, or some tweaks and refinements. I provide this service via zoom, email and phone. I’m currently working on a list of offerings, in the meantime, please contact me if you’re interested to learn more.
Who is Nyanda?
I’m happiest either at the beach or in the kitchen, sharing food with my loved ones.
I overthink everything - which is both a blessing and a curse!
In 2022 I got married to my teenage crush, so I’ve changed my surname from Applegate to Dennison.
I’ve got a Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine) as well as qualifications in training, business analysis, Agile methodology and software testing.
I’m really interested in Ayurvedic Medicine and hope to go to India one day to study it further. I’m so excited about the emerging scientific research that is supporting traditional medicine.
I have no kids or fur babies of my own but I am aunty to many!
